About the Department
Established in 2010–11, the Department of
Civil Engineering has continually evolved to
shape visionary infrastructure leaders and
meet dynamic global standards. In a strategic
move to prioritize educational excellence and
high-impact learning, the department
optimized its undergraduate B.Tech in Civil
Engineering intake to an exclusive cohort of
30 students in 2023–24. This deliberate shift
guarantees an exceptional student-to-faculty ratio, fostering direct micro-mentorship,
personalized academic guidance, and deep hands-on technical training. The B.Tech
curriculum seamlessly integrates Industry 4.0 innovations—such as 5D Building Information
Modeling (BIM), digital surveying tools, and onsite safety protocols—complemented by
immersive field visits to live megaprojects including the Pune Metro, Smart City initiatives,
and regional environmental engineering sites.
Expanding its academic footprint, the department has also offered a specialized postgraduate
M.Tech in Structural Engineering program with an intake of 24 seats since 2013–14.
Designed for engineers aspiring to lead in advanced industry and academic research, the
M.Tech program emphasizes cutting-edge computational modeling, structural dynamics, and
earthquake-resistant design. Supported by a team of dynamic, research-oriented faculty
members actively engaged in professional engineering communities, the department provides
dedicated mentoring for national and state-level competitive exams like GATE and MPSC.
This holistic, innovation-driven approach has forged a decade-long legacy of academic

- Alumnus Mr. Siddhesh Dhuri received the Maharashtra Times Sanman Award 2026 for Best Actor.
- Organized a BIM and Digital Construction Workshop to enhance students' industry knowledge.
- 30+ alumni have completed M.S. degrees abroad and are working in senior international positions.
- 30+ alumni are serving in PWD, BMC, PMC, CIDCO, Town Planning, Water Resources, and other government departments.
- Second Year students developed an Engineering Materials Laboratory with construction material samples and a weekly market price display.
- Established the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) Student Chapter to promote technical learning, research, and industry interaction.
